Beethoven’s Concerto is one of the most profound ever. The concerto by the violinist he wrote it for, Franz Clement, is also a true gem.

Sad to say, this recording wasn't well publicised, which is truly a shame. Besides getting wonderful, world-class performances by Ms Barton Pine, Mr Serebrier, and the Royal Philharmonic, the Clement violin concerto is a real find. It doesn't have the advantage of being indelibly part of our musical conciousness like the Beethoven violin concerto, it nonetheless is a well-written and surprisingly expansive work. I'd love to hear you perform it live some day. - Sherman in Atlanta
